ABCollactables
Natalie Teniola (nee Grant-Mullings) - Biography
The girl from Moss Side was born on a rainy Saturday evening in April 1967 into a wonderful family. The time and day I was born, Pluto and Uranus were in conjunction, which appears every 115 years!
I am passionate in what I believe in and a free spirited individual. I am firm, steadfast, determined and stubborn as I cling onto ideas until they come into fruition.
I left North Manchester High School gleefully without any worthy written qualifications. In 1982, I went straight into employment at 16 years old, at my local doctor's surgery working as a receptionist. This really attuned my listening, communication and organizational skills that I continue to use today.
From 1986 to 1997 through persistence, I gained 10 ‘O’ levels, 2 ‘A’ levels, a degree in psychology and two years postgraduate education at Manchester Metropolitan University and published research articles for the Early Years Department in Didsbury.
In 2002, I became the founding member of ABCollectables – Books, Games and Training for Education. ABCollectables is committed to school and community enhancement, citizenship and community art. I have traveled to Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria and Malta to share my expertise with local schools there.
In my spare time, I am a keen sports woman practicing martial arts and am a member at Moss Side Leisure Centre. As a trustee of Nello James Centre we are in the process of devising a marketing strategy to help raise £3m by 2012.
